Aspire Indiana Health

Aspire Indiana Health started as a Community Mental Health Center about 50 years ago. Along the way, we developed supported housing and employment services to improve the quality of life of our consumers.

In 2005 Aspire began to look into how to provide primary care/behavioral health integrated care as we saw the individuals we served with severe mental illness and addictions dying up to 25 years earlier than their counterparts in the general population. They were dying from chronic medical conditions and not their mental illnesses.

It took another 10 years before we decided the best way forward was to become a FQHC LAL. We received this designation in 2017 and have experienced tremendous outcomes! Individuals are lowering their A1Cs, blood pressures and BMIs. We are treating infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C. Individuals who used to have sedentary lives are exercising, quitting smoking, and finding whole health recovery. We continue to improve quality of life but now we are saving and extending the lives of individuals with the most complex medical, behavioral and social needs!
