$10 Billion in Upcoming Capital Funding to Include Look-Alikes

Our friends at the Wright Center in Scranton, PA recently informed us that Look-Alikes have successfully been added to the Build Back Better Act draft legislation. This means that Look-Alikes (LALs) will be eligible to compete for a portion of the $10 billion set aside for community health center capital projects. You can read the full draft here (pg. 8/58).

Big thanks to the Wright Center and their staff for pushing to include LALs and for their diligent efforts communicating these details to Energy and Commerce Committee staffers. This is a good time to begin looking into HRSA requirements for capital projects. Capital projects are a different level of complexity and there is plenty of prep work to consider prior to preparing and submitting your application. We recommend you look over the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a recent capital grant awarded this last year - the CADRE funding opportunity. Pay mind to requirements for improvement/expansion to leased property, federal interest requirements, and unallowable activities - to name a few.
