Look-Alike Advocacy in San Diego

On August 28, 2023, the FQHC Look-Alike Advocacy Coalition hosted a social hour during NACHC’s Community Health Institute & EXPO in San Diego, California. The coalition members discussed the importance of 136 Look-Alikes, who serve over 1 million people across the country. They also discussed the coalition’s recent decision to hire a lobbyist to support Look-Alike advocacy in Washington, DC.

Bev Harbin, CEO of Wahiawa Health and co-chair of the FQHC Look-Alike Advocacy Coalition, received an award for founding the coalition and for her commitment to health equity. As a passionate advocate for underserved communities, Bev has made it her mission to break down barriers and fight for equal funding for Look-Alikes, which are a crucial part of the safety net.
